Shelving Prices
The Average Male Can
Never Have Too Many Shelves In The Garage
Just as females can
never seem to have quite enough space in their kitchens and bedrooms, the
average male is generally also looking for extra storing space in his
garage. Everything from the gardening tools to the power tools, camping
tents, bicycles and containers with oil generally clutter up a small garage
before you can say "it's time for more shelves!"
Shelving prices will
depend on the type of shelves that your garage requires. You can either
build shelves from the garage floor all the way to the roof (just make sure
that you still leave enough space for your vehicle) or you can simply mount
a number of shelves horizontally or vertically.
Before you start
comparing shelving prices, you need to evaluate your garage area. Inspect
all the walls and determine whether you will require extra support for any
of the shelves, especially if you will be stacking your shelves quite high.
The last thing you want is a can of red paint falling from the top shelf
onto your sports motor if the shelf happens to come loose!
Take proper
measurements of the available space. Many stores will be able to cut the
shelves to your exact lengths, making the entire process even simpler! If
you will be fitting shelves to the front of the garage where your vehicle's
nose usually ends, you need to determine exactly how wide your new shelves
can be.
Shelving prices will
also depend on the type of material that you use for your shelves. If you
are opting for the affordable option of wood shelves, just make sure that
the wood is properly treated to guarantee a long "shelf life". Fire
resistant shelving is also a good product to consider.
One thing to keep in
mind is that heavier options should be closer to the ground. Falling objects
can cause injury and damage and accidents can occur much quicker than you
might anticipate.
If at all possible,
make sure that you have an extra set of hands on standby when wanting to add
shelves to your garage – and wear gloves to prevent splinters in your hands! |
