HISTORY
Mike Collyer, Chairman of Palian (Pty) Ltd started Palian
in 1994 and was joined by Johan Crafford in 2000.
Palian originated from the manufacture of Palisade Fencing - hence the name
Palian, but changed to the sole manufacture of Racking, Shelving and Mezzanine
floors during the early 2000`s due to the demand and ever changing markets.
Mike has been an entrepreneur in the manufacturing sector for over 40 years and
owned various companies in the Steel Industry ranging from Racking, Shelving,
Palisade, Scaffolding, Bearings, Steel trading, Railing, Tubing & Engineering to
mention but a few. Since 1994 his sole concentration has been the development of
Palian (Pty) Ltd to a highly efficient, automated leader in the manufacture of
Racking and Shelving.
Johan Crafford started in the Material handling industry in 1993 as a Trainee
Industrial Engineer and has since only been involved in it. Johan has had
experience on all levels of the Industry ranging from the factory floor, design,
sales and administration, with a few years spent abroad in both Europe and the
Middle East in setting up outlets for the products.
Mike & Johan joined forces in 2000, which proved to be a very successful
relationship, with Johan concentrating on the running of the business, whilst
Mike concentrates his vast experience on the development of products and
processes.
Mike & Johan are the sole owners of Palian and remain ambitious to further
improve the already successful business to ensure the best products, at the best
price, with the best people and service.
Palian (Pty) Ltd started manufacturing in the
early 1990’s and is a world-class supplier of racking and shelving. Located in
Randburg, Gauteng, South Africa, Palian has become market leader in Southern
Africa through innovative production techniques and reduced overheads, enabling
it to supply quality products at excellent prices.

In addition to manufacturing vastly superior Racking,
Shelving and Mezzanine products, Palian offers a full range of services and
benefits to customers;
Full Warehouse designs, feasibility studies, ergonomic assessments, efficiency
audits and CAD drawings of each is available via the Technical and Sales
Departments.
Full CAD Drawing accompany every quote, once the order is placed and products
delivered, in house Trained Installation teams ensures the products are
installed to the highest SEMA Standards.
Afters successfully installing the products a full maintenance department is
active in both Johannesburg and Cape town. These departments offer maintenance
contracts with monthly audits on all installations, ensuring Safety Standards
are maintained and Insurance premiums reduced.

local and international quality requirements. All products are designed in
accordance to the SEMA code of conduct for racking design, manufacture and
installation. In addition, we are committed to a policy of safety in the working
